For those that are not familiar with these laws... Three Strikes Laws are those that provide that a felony offender spend anywhere from 25 years to life in prison upon the third conviction. Twenty-four states currently have some form of three strikes law, with California's being the most comprehensive. Some states require the third conviction be a felony conviction; others do not.

Many people in the system know the system. They know how to beat the system. I have an uncle who has had about four DWI's. The state of Texas says that after three they take your license away and you go to jail for at least ten years. Well last month he just got his fifth. He was only granted a year in jail. Now only a month later he is in a boot camp recovery serving his time and will be out in six months. Care for anyone to explain that?
