"I want to blog about my little brother's cat. Does that count?"-Abridged

Everyone seemed to enjoy my last post about the official rules of ProgressiveU IE specifically what will happen if you try in any way to cheat or change the direction of the contest (which in my book is CHEATING). So I decided after requests to post another outlining what is acceptable to post on, and what is generally not, as outlined in the website FAQ so that A) everyone reads it and B) non one else has to look for it as hard as I did. LOL! So onward we go! What are acceptable topics to post about on Progressive U . . .

"Posting about your brother's cat is a little off-topic, but you have fairly broad leeway on what to post about as part of this contest. The general idea is to blog about current issues, and events, and to generate discussion. You'll find people blogging about music, entertainment, sports, news -- all kinds of issues. We are not going to remove posts unless a) we decide we need to for legal reasons, or b) we decide you are abusing the spirit of the contest by posting random stuff just to get points." link. [0] Well that clearly sums up some of the points I have been trying to make. While you can techniqually post about whatever you want, the point is to stimulate thought! And guess what? We all just cleared up another issue! Progessive U has the right to remove posts that are off topic, or not count them as point. That is right, beware overbloggers! They are gonna get you! They know where you live!

This link pretty much states the same thing in different words and adresses other important "proper blogging" issues.og about issues you are discussing in your classes. "Blog about hot topics on your campus -- events or rallies put on by campus groups, guest speakers, something you read in the campus paper, heard about on the radio, or saw on TV.

Review a book, movie, or album.

Scan online news sources like Google News [1].

Find out what's the latest buzz on the internet through sites like Yahoo! Buzz Index [2] or MSN Search Insider [3].

Scan other progressive blogs, like the ones on our blogroll [3], for ideas.

Scan conservative blogs and websites, like these [3], to see what they are making a fuss about.

You can also use a blog posting to create a link list of resources about an issue. The editing tools included with your Progressive U account make it easy to update your resource lists." link. [3] I do not know about you, but I basically get the gist that blogs are supposed to be about current events. But that is just me. Maybe I am reading it wrong. Hold on, I guess my cat doing a flip is a current event. Excuse me, I mean ones that most people are interested in. Most meaning more than you and your parents and some kindly members of the community. And look! It even has links! So everyone who cannot think of anything but their cat's fashion show can have help finding things to talk about.

Okay so maybe I am being a little bit harsh. Even my well dries up sometimes, but in that event, I do not post for the heck of it just to get points, I comment on other peoples. Which, here is a secret, is usually worth more points than posting when you think about it! This way those blogs that really do start discussion are read, and eferyone wins.

okay I feel better now. sorry.
