A queen bee can lay 800-1500 eggs per day.
To this I say—that’s one busy bee! Haha! I know, dry sense of humor, ;)
I started really thinking about this particular fact—I just think it’s kinda funny that this one is #7. Didn’t God rest on the seventh day? Dude, this bee ain’t restin’ for nothin’!
The whole idea of the queen bee and the hive gives whole new thought to monogamous relationships! But as a woman I certainly love the idea having the males come to me with no work involved. It’s their lot in life to serve the one female in their life. The only female, but it’s not like she isn’t working hard for it—but it isn’t like human females don’t either. I’ve never known one including myself that didn’t, even when they shouldn’t—again including me. Despite the sweet prospect of being queen might bee, I think I’d rather go for one man and a few less eggs to go along with it.
As crazy as it is, this is where my deep-seated head went with this little unexpected bit of knowledge presented to me in my day. I crave going beyond the obvious if you haven’t noticed and even the simplest pleasures can lead me to the strangest and most interesting destinations—and all this from a bottle cap you say?
Okay, so I’m a bit of a fan of Snapple Real Facts. However, I think companies that use under cap quotes and tidbits are genius when it comes to marketing ploys. I’m a sucker for them anyway! I tend to grab a Sobee, Snapple or Jones soda before others knowing I’ll find something under the cap to enlighten me. Oddly enough, I’d rather choose these even before I’d choose a soft drink company offering contest winnings. To have a moment of divine inspiration in my day isn’t something that can compare with a free contest where I might win a prize or end up with spam in my email. That’s a fact. At least in my world. Call it marketing if you want.
