This is Quite an old topic but I don't think it should be forgotten so i'm posting it :D
California today is having major problems, with it being the most populated state out of the 50 and one of the richest (as in how much it brings in, not how much is in the bank), it should be well off, no? Its false. This might be old news but the Governor had plans to send a large cash flow to prisons! Even if his plan were to fail, (hopefully it did fail) the thought of that could dismember the economy of the state. By sending cash to prisons instead of schools, there would be a lack of teachers, overcrowded classrooms, and the word "budget cuts" would be known to all kindergardener. With all the money going to somewhere else, the children would get dumber and the only way to survive is to work hard jobs, that deal with dangerous objects, or long nights at the counter selling the new Value menu. But the major problem with that survival tactic is that the jobs will run out. Usually those jobs are given to Teens who need to start out working, but with the new adults taking that job there will be a surplus of workers, and a low demand on jobs, so the economy will fail.
Money to prisons= less money in schools= dumber children = all low educated jobs are taken up = lack of jobs available.
Just what i think, how about you?

Hmmm, seems like a decision between dumb children and dead children. Just kidding.
I don't think that children will become "dumber" as a result of more money being sent to prisons UNLESS the money being sent to prisons is coming from the current education fund. If it's coming from somewhere else and school funding won't change, then children just won't get any smarter or more benefits.
