I had written a detailed analysis of the meaning of Cinco de Mayo and its impact on the celebrations that will soon be held in the United States, but, unfortunately, a glitch in the ProgressiveU system caused the post to be deleted.  Sadly, I don't have the time today to recreate the post.  I can, however, share the links from which I drew information and encourage you to educate yourselves about the holiday (especially relevant given the current Immegration debate).
