In California they have a thing called Title 24, which prescribes methods for calculating the sizes of your home windows, the capacities of your air conditioner and heater, the thickness of the insulation in your attic, etc, etc.
But there has been proposed revisions to the thing, which some are good, but there is one that is insanely bad in my opinion. It proposes that it would equip homes with a Programmable Communicating Thermostat, or PCT. In lament terms, it would give the state the ability to adjust your thermostat in your during times of "risk." Now it seems good, given CA rolling blackouts, and them wanting to find any solution to fix that. But given the craze of conserving energy to "prevent" global warming, I see a new problem. I bet in the next couple of years, every house in America will have some type of PCT so they can slow global warming. Granted, it seems like a good idea. But I don’t need the government telling me what temperature to keep my house. I know some crazed individual will come up and say, "DON’T YOU CURR ABOUT THE ENVURMENT!!!!!!"
I suppose not enough to have the government breathing down on my back, because that what it is if we have PCTs installed in our houses. If that’s done in houses in America, what else will the government make us do so we can "slow" the effects of global warming?
