Chicago is getting ridiculous with all the killing that has been going on with the youth in America. WHY DO WE CHOOSE TO FIGHT AND SHOOT EACH OTHER? What does it mean to defend oneself? In many people eyes it is to inflict pain on others to feel ultimate glory, to others they just let some situations be. I have seen to many die in my community... it seems as though the Black community is deteriorating as the time goes by. My theory is the evolution of man is going backwards because humans act civilized, only animals kill each other like the killings have been going on now. What do you think?????

I don't think evolution is going backwards, but I do think that the crime situation needs to be addressed. We must educate our youth about the negative effects of gangs and crime, and show them that an honest life is better. Until then, we will only see the same thing.

I understand your view point but we have been teaching youth since the early 90s when the break out of gang violence appeared heavily in California. People have been trying to teach youth and trying to teach them . . . it is so much one can teach. There has to be another way that we can reach to not just youth but everybody in America, to understand that violence is not becoming an epidemic but as been an epidemic since forever. You can only tell so one so much and ultimately the decision that they choose is up to them.

I disagree. I was never exposed to the negative consequences of gang violence or presented with any information, and I was enrolled in school all through the early 90s.

The problem is rooted in the way problems are being addressed!
The lack of addressing the core issues related make many to lose hope, therefore many become narrow mined in their thinking which results in more problems to arise.
To create a future perspective for youngsters is not enough, it needs a proper structure in order to allow its growth to flourish.
There is a need to address all of the individuals that have lost “their” reason inside this basin of hate which is being projected randomly, while brining nothing but more fear and confusion to arise from it!
Bad political management is at the root of what is taking place, they have turned their backs towards a certain segment in that society.
To take away the on “growing” anger (frustration) is the first action which should be put in place!
