Hello eveybody, first i most apologize for my mistake of plagiarising. It was defenately not intentional and i was just trying to tell the whole deal about Regeaton with is a form of urban music verry popular in latin america and spreading all over the place. This great rhythm comes from a blend of reggae, which is from jamaica, bomba, plena, merengue, and bachata, which come from Puerto RIco, Cuba, Dominican Rep. and other places but regeaton has also influences from hiphop and rap.

Im pretty sure that everyone has heard regueaton at least once and has moved their bodies to the original and awesome beat and rhythm called Dem Bow which is the title of a popular song by shabba ranks in the 1990s.Reggaeton is closely tied with PUERTO RICO where the musical style became most famous and where the majority of its singer and makers come from. The lyrics of regueaton are kind of like hiphop lyrics, they are strongly worded and with a message that is not always accepted by society because it influences teenagers to participate in sexual intercurse or it degrades the woman, but not all songs are like that. Also the dance known as PERREO is controversial because it requiers close contact almost the complete body to touch one another: a lot of people nickname it "having sex with clothes on" but this depends on the person.
At the beginins, in the 1990s, this genre was called underground and was extremely explicit about things that i have mention before but not excluding drugs, violence, poverty, love, e.t.c., it was recorded in open garages without expensive equipment and then it was sold in hte streets on cassettes.
The genre spread out once cassettes like: "DJ Negro's The Noise I and II" and "DJ Playero's #37 and #38" came out in the early 1990s by the mid 90s cassettes were being sold in commercial music stores finding its way to the media.
Like i have mention before the music was harshly criticized because of its content even government launched a campaign against it, the Puerto Rican Police and National Guard even went as far as to confiscate reggaeton tapes and CDs in an effort to get the "obscene" lyrics out of the hands of consumers. Schools also banned hip-hop style clothing and music in an effort to quell the influence of reggaeton in the educational environment-even to this day-, and media demonized rappers by saying that they were corrupters of order.
The local authorities were ask to intervene and ban selling underground music, later it required that all local productions being sold to displayed a Parental Advisory lable.
An article in wikipedia about reggeaton says:
"In 2002, Senator Velda González led public hearings in an attempt to regulate the sexual “slackness” of reggaeton’s lyrics and the perrero style of dance due to its often sexually charged content and because of its roots in poor, urban communities, many middle and upper class Puerto Ricans found reggaeton to be threatening, 'immoral, as well as artistically deficient, a threat to the social order, apolitical, [and] misogynist'".

Despite of all the controversy reggeaton gained acceptance as an important part of Puerto Rican culture and it is consider an acomplishment by all puertoricans. The 2006 Pepsi commercial featuring Daddy Yankee open the doors for this genre even more and now the rhythm is not only used in urban style music but also in religiously and educationally lyrics.

Through production models derived from U.S. hip-hop artists and based in grassroots movements and entrepreneurs like Daddy yankee's- El cartel records and Wisin y Yandel-WY Records-, reggaeton has been an artistic vehicle gaining worldwide popularity.

TO SAY THE TRUTH I AM FROM PUERTO RICO AND I WAS BORN WHEN THIS WHOLE MOVEMENT OF MUSIC HAD JUST STARTED. YES IT IS A LITTLE CONTROVERSIAL AND EXPLICIT BUT I AM PROUD OF THE MUSIC THAT MY LITTLE ISLAND IS RECOGNIZED FOR. MANY OF THE ARTIST OF THIS GENDER ARE NOW IN THE US AND OTHER PLACES PLAYING THEIR MUSIC AND SHOWING THE DANCE. BUT THIS IS NOT THE ONLY THING THAT SHOULD BE NOTICE ABOUT THE ISLAND WE ARE FULL OF CULTURE AND MUSIC AND DELICIOUS FOODS THAT PEOPLE FROM OTHER COUNTRIES MAY NEVER TASTE IF THEY DONT VISIT IT.
