To me, progress has many meanings:
-To continue, despite the threat of defeat.
-To learn.
-To discover something about yourself you had never been aware of.
-To become closer to another human being by understanding them better.
-To try. No. To do more than try. To achieve.
-To keep going, even after defeat. (continue doing track even though you keep losing at races, continue applying to colleges/scholarships even though you didn’t get the first few, etc)
-Progress is and will be. Progress is not only the here and now, it is also concerning the near and far future.
-Achieving a goal, and then setting new goals for yourself.
Maybe it’s important to flesh out your own ideas of what progress is in order to understand the term by non-dictionary standards. From what I’ve seen in other blog entries, everyone has a slightly different look at what progress means to them. To restinpeace, that progress is teaching people to save money on funeral costs. To edible woman, that progress is teaching acceptance and seeing from her perspective. To DrifterDani6886, that progress is telling heart-felt true stories. To Green Underbelly, it’s about the great outdoors.
If you are new to the site, I suggest you get a firm idea in your head of what progress means to you. Then, you can’t go wrong with your blog topics. Unless you annoy me by using Chatspeak. Then all bets are off.
