I may not be the smartest person in the world, the most well read, the most up to date on current events, or the most happening person in my school, but I know that I am a thinker and that I am open minded. I thought about what progressive would mean in a literal sense and that's moving forward but in here, to me I believe, being progressive and thinking progressive means something just a little more than that.
Within the 4 "walls" of these Blog boxes, being progressive means having a voice of your own, but hearing the voice of others. Standing up and stretching your own beliefs but also stepping out of the way to allow someone else space to do the same. We are all here doing the same thing. Here, being progressive means that we are being open minded, thought provoking, and that we are actually thinking as well. These are things that we need to have with us constantly. The ability to listen, speak, and respect. To speak out and speak up but not speak over. The ability to stand up up, walk and be strong, but not walk all over and strong arm. These are things that progressive means within these 4 blog box walls. It is what it means to me outside of them also. Being progressive means making a difference without making a dent.
I add this after reading it over a few days latter and reading over comments left on my blogs in the past day or so because what I realized that I didn't mention was that being progressive meant learning from one another not just learning to work together and making a difference but learning from those other beliefs that we are accepting around us. The difference is the difference between hearing and listening. So I wanted to add that part because we can learn to allow other opinions and people around us without a problem, we can learn to make a difference without doing more harm than good, we can do all that I mentioned before but if we can't learn from those others around us while we do it than its all for nothing. So I believe that is being progressive to me.
