My criminology teacher on Friday said that child molesters should not get the death penalty because if they know that if they commit this crime and will be sentenced to death for it then it may increase the likelihood of them murdering the child because they already are up a creek without a paddle. What do you think? Of course, there is always the moral issue of whether the government has a right to "play god" with people's lives too...I don't know if it is just me though, but I personally think that child molestors are some of the sickest and lowest type of human beings on this earth.

I'm torn on the issue. I definitely think they should be locked up for quite a while, counseled, and very, very closely monitored once they are no longer in prison. I still can't decide about the death penalty. I like to think it should be reserved only for very violent offenders.

It's difficult going about treating this issue. This is indeed one extreme of the issue, Lawmakers should do something that balances the interests of both the people and the legal defense of the suspect.

Tell your teacher, even in case child molesters would know to be fed to Lions for their actions, it would not change a single aspect in their criminal behavior.
So whether they know to get killed or not isn’t the real issue after all, the safety of the child is!
When they trigger, they lose “ALL” reason because of the rush they experience!
I deeply wonder what kind of education teachers receive since they should by now all know and realize, all issues about child abuse are not in relation with crime, but in relation with an incurable “sickness” which “itself” doesn’t take in account the various consequences that might be related to their “SICK” actions!
Whether to imply a dead penalty or not is another story, to castrate them “ALL” should be standard procedure to imply upon those who are caught!
Because castration breaks the link which triggers the sickness they carry inside!
We all play God!
So why bother about worthless stupid nonsense morals which are just put in place to project an image and paint out how human and civilized we all are, while the truth clearly shows we are not!
To whom do these so called morals need to reflects other than upon our offspring, while these so called morals in fact are bringing them nothing but hurt!
Hypocritical moral issues are at the root of every child molester who is set free after his sentence, only to show morals are not a cure but rather a social problem which allows those individuals to start all over again!
I don’t have children, still in case I would, I would not find rest until that day I personally kill the one who puts his sick mindset upon them.
I wouldn’t care less to spend the rest of my life in jail after!
Castration should become a moral to support!
