Is That A Roll of Quarters In Your Pocket?

What if you saved $1.50 every day for the rest of your life?

Instead of dishing out the quarters to buy a water bottle at the gym you could let the change collect in your pocket. Rather than buy a water bottle at the vending machine to wash down your chocolate craving why not give the quarters to a street musician? Why not carry a water bottle with you to help save the environment and its resources?

Really, you’ve been duped. That expensive water that you’re dishing out money for day after day—week after week—is most likely just tap water. And when the water of the elite is finished? The trash can is so much more convenient than recycling! There is a plethora of trash cans. If you recycled one bottle every day (you even get PAID to recycle) you could build up a small fortune. (Granted, very small).

But imagine if you never had to go through the trouble of recycling water bottles. What if you just never bought them to begin with?

Nalgene and Brita have joined in an effort (yes, they benefit from the program—but so does the environment and that is more important) to minimize water bottle waste. FilterForGood is a partner company of Refill Not Landfill. Thousands of people have taken the pledge online—to not use disposable bottles for an entire year.

Are you up to the challenge?
