Unless we are willing to set out and marry into other cultures may we, God forbid, always be judgemental and less and less understanding of different beliefs. also, i'm sayin: we focus all of our energy on animalistic emotions and desires. we haven't even figured out the UNIVERSE YET! WHAT! the feeling is far too comforting. what if a significant other dies? what do you do... replace? repent? refurbish?
"love is the word used to label the sexual excitement of the young, the habituation of the middle-aged, and the mutual dependence of the old." -john ciardi
What can we do to change this? Educate. Most people just assume they are happier depending upon someone else for contentment. Love is certainly a nice emotion. We can do without it, and most don't realize this- it is so common to be married. It is encouraged in most religions, as they certainly don't encourage premarital sex. What can we do about this sad encounter in social ethics? We need a balance. Youth should demand change in the world. Not until we can identify what else our ancestors have been doing wrong can we see and control our humane change. So let's 'hop' to it. Love being alone. Be okay with it. Love solicitude. Please.
