Way to go McDonald's

I walked into my local McDonald's the other day because my mother and I were hungry. I really don't eat fast food, but I was in the mood. I ordered a Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal and was asked, "Do you want your free Quarter Pounder with that?" I turned around and noticed a sign that said something like "Free Quarter Pounder or Big Mac with purchase of one of the same".

Way to go McDonald's trying to make Americans fatter than they already are. Obesity is one of - if not the biggest - problems in America today, and you are just adding to it. Quarter Pounders have 51% of total sodium needed in a day, so at 2 you'd be over. Calories are about 40% of the daily total. I don't even know a Big Mac's since I've never eaten one.

Fast food is supposed to be more cost efficient and time saving. Well a Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal where I live costs around $5.88. Let's say you get three a week - roughly $18. Let's say you have two more family members that get the same meal - $64. You could buy groceries for cheaper. Sure, it takes a little longer to prepare, but the health benefits outweigh the wait. And today, sometimes it takes over 20 minutes alone to get the fast food as lines are getting longer and longer.

My plea for you, as an American, is to try and cut out fast food from your life as fast as possible. It won't happen overnight of course, but try to cut it out as the cost and health problems will continue to arise.
