It seems that in this day and age of technology and paparazzi our generation is being forced to stare into an unreal image of what the media wants us to feel like we should look like. This may seem pessimistic and crudely blunt but it seems that there are extremely over-weight kids and super-skinny ones. What ever happened to a good normal sized teenager, or adult for that matter? Are we concentrating so much now other issues in our culture than on our obsession with food?
Either way, America has an obsession, whether that is eating too much or too little. It seems that Americans can't seem to find that fine balance between too much and not enough. Are we starving our generation out of a healthy lifestyle or allowing them to gorge too much with their self-indulgences? Why do we still have so much junk food around when TV's are screaming out that we should be living healthy life-styles. Fast-food agencies are getting so creative with their advertising now that they are making even intelligent and smart consumers think they are selling fresh foods instead of over-processed greased potatoes.
Why don't we have more healthy options that are also quick? We have such limited options here in this land of plenty! We need to make a change here and now! It is our generation that is slowly ripping the seams of this jacket that the older generations have latched onto us. We don't have to sit here and take the only options we have! Let's fight against bad body image, give ourselves more options and start appreciating ourselves the way God intended!
