A lot of teens and people of all ages really don't take this seriously. You think you live in a safe neighborhood? Think again. I was shocked to see that there are three sex offenders living in my zip code and one of them is a woman. There are about 50 within a few miles of my school too. I urge everyone to go on their city or county website and see where the sex offenders are in your neighborhood. You really have to be cautious about this. Too many people, especially women and children, get raped and molested every day. If one person is raped, that is one too many. It can do unbelievably painful damage to someone and leave permanent scares that can last forever and cause one to be afraid of sex or other things. For instance, a friend of mine could be afraid to go on dates alone with boys because she was raped on a date with a boy. It can really mess up someone's life and we all need to do our part to keep ourselves and loved ones safe. If you see any suspicious activity in your area, call the police, and if you see a registered sex offender, go back into your home and lock your doors. Some say it is an invasion of privacy to broadcast the names and addresses of the sex offenders themselves but I believe we have a right to know. Take care of yourself and know your boundaries. Look up the information and alert those in your household and your friends.
