I can't even begin to count the amount of plastic bags I see in the trash everyday. I don't people realize how much you can do with a plastic bag, so I have decided to dedicate this post completely to plastic bags and how you can put them to use. Not only will you be saving CO2 from being released into the atmosphere, but you will also be recycling and reducing your waste consumption.
One of the most common things you can do with a plastic bag is put it in your trash can as a liner. Use it in the bathroom or your bedroom and place it in your bin so that you can keep the inside of it clean. Besides, it's a lot easier to empty and prevents smells and bacteria from accumulating in your can.
Another thing you can do is put your snacks or lunch in the bag. Since they are pretty big, you can fit a decent size lunch in them, and it can be reused. You can also put your personal hygiene products in it when you are traveling. It may not be the most attractive lunch sack, but just think, you are helping the envrironment by using the bag.
For those of you who have dogs, get out that shovel and scoop the stuff in. It sounds disgusting, but hey, it's got to go somewhere, so why not reuse your plastic bag and put the stuff in there and toss it?
A few other ideas I've come across are using it as a laundry sack, to stow your clothes in for when you go on a trip and don't have access to a laundry facility. This will keep your dirty clothes separate so that you don't have to wash everything when you get home (because if you have to wash everything, then you are using more water and energy than you need to). You can also use the bag as an ice pack. If someone gets injured, just throw some ice in the bag and apply. Voila!
If you have any other tips, feel free to leave a comment with them! The more ideas the better!
