Last post I made brought me to 720 points...I'm not sure how to make polls...Perhaps FAQ might have the answer?
It doesn't. Can we make polls? O: I assumed that since there was a section for user polls, we could...
Only mods can make polls. We have a section for polls and opinions, as an informal way of getting opinions of others.

I don't have nearly enough to compete with your read count!
http://www.progressiveu.org/blog/ediblewoman
Isn't your read count just as high as my read count?
Or higher?
And now I'm even more confused. Cuz I have several thousand points and I was sure that included reads?
(if I've actually commented so much I got to several thousand points entirely on my own, that's just sad)
Read points aren't added until the end of the contest.

....oh. So I have to manually go through mine and add all the points up and then guess who has highest read points in order to compare myself?
Manually adding the points won't do you any good either. The read counts at the bottom of the posts include people reading the post over and over again (such as checking for comments), while the read points added at the end of the contest only give you one read for each new person that reads the post.

....but.... but then I can't know who's in the lead at all, because even if I was in the lead, three random people might have more unique reads than I. D:
You are the master of emoticons. I've never seen that one before, but I like it.

Why thank you. I actually rarely use the very traditional emoticons. Except
. I like
.
Btw, you never DID say how many points you have.
And that's exactly how May won the last contest. She was placed like 5th or 6th up until read points were added in.

...shit. I guess the only solution is to have so many points that it won't matter if someone suddenly gains a ridiculous amount of read points. What were the winning points, last time? O: including the read points?
Nearing 50K, if I remember correctly. Of course, the winner this contest should have more, since this contest runs longer.

If you break it down hourly, that is the worst paying job ever. I'm going to apply at Super America instead.
http://www.progressiveu.org/blog/ediblewoman
No, mine and Fallon's job is the worst paying job ever. We work more than any of you, over several contests, and she's gotten $1000, and I've gotten nothing (technically, we were both offered $500 each, but that's beside the point). Stupid grant people....
Not that I'm complaining. If I didn't like it, I'd quit. I was just emphasizing that working towards this scholarship is not the worst paying job ever.

No, my pay is worst then yours. I've been a mod longer then you, including quite some time with only one other mod, and haven't even been offered any thing for all my work. Oh, well, I'm still addicted to ProU, and probably wouldn't leave if somebody payed me to.

But you weren't really active when Fallon and I started up, or shortly after that. Can't remember when you really went. We're glad you're here now, though :-D

I was really active when you and Fallon started, cause before that we only had two people. It wasn't until after you guy were all settled that I took a break, and that was only really for a few months (although I'll admit I haven't been as active as either of you since you guys started).

It's a lot more fun than flipping burgers though. Plus I can do it in my pjs and I can do it while inebriated.
I just broke 1,000. I'm at like 1040 right now. I'm still new so I don't know what all of this means. Care to indulge? Kiota, I have noticed you type
... What does that mean exactly?
It's points you get from posting and so forth...?
I guess i'm not seeing it. haha. I get that we earn points... I just don't get why or how.
The person with the most points on June 30th wins a $1000 scholarship, and the next two earn $500 scholarships. You get ten points for each comment you make, and 50 points for each blog you post. You also get points for reads, and nominating bloggers to be featured, but those aren't added until the end of the contest.

I had a week long celebration of St Patrick's Day, and am just now recovering... It kind of sucks I didn't find out about this site until recently. I don't think I have enough time to actually make up for it points-wise. I guess it's good I like to debate and share ideas.

Nah, in another 150 posts or so you'll be all caught up to me!
I don't think it's too late at all though, plenty of people joined recently, a lot of people drop out in the middle, and if you're a good writer and you're insanely active (I mean insanely), there's no reason why you shouldn't win.
So, how many points does everyone have on here? is there any way you guys can generate another Top 25 list or something similar?

With only a couple weeks left in the contest, it's not really worth it to generate another list.

With your nightly comment binges, you've GOT to be near the top 3! You'll be fine. I have sort of thrown in the towel. If it happens, it happens. I'm out of comments for people, you know? I feel like I keep saying the same things over and over...perhaps because the blogs often say the same things over and over. I get so excited when I actually have something to say now! At first, I had something to say about everything...now the luster has faded.
http://www.progressiveu.org/blog/ediblewoman
Haha, I'd call it more of a comment purge since I'm just vomiting them out on anything and everything in my path. I try to keep them unique, but every once in a while I think I've said something before. There's only so many ways to reword the conservative debunking arguments.

What did you rack up last night? Like 1500? I wish I had the time to do that. I can't wait for my life to begin again! I'm unplugging my computer for a month after this is over!
http://www.progressiveu.org/blog/ediblewoman
I'm not sure, I kinda lost track of counting because the days are starting to run together. I just got to a good, square number and fell asleep. I'll def. unplug as well, after I finish my 9 billion other projects that are currently on hold.

I was about to say that I wish I didn't have a job, so I could stay up late (which I am right now, but only because my brother called and needed to talk for an hour). Then I realized that would be silly. The job pays WAY better! And it's guaranteed money, whereas this is unlikely!
http://www.progressiveu.org/blog/ediblewoman
True, I'm actually working two jobs right now, so I'm really spread thin until the contest is over. My husband was asking me if it was even worth it since the scholarship isn't guaranteed, but at this point I think it is. I think (hope) that I'm close enough that it would be pointless to drop out now. I wish I would have kept going at a steady pace from day one, but I think I took about a month or so off with no activity on here. Not a good move! If anything, I figure I'll be better prepared for the next contest.

If it doesn't happen this time, it doesn't happen. I need my life back, my wrists, my relationship--you name it, I miss it. One and done. That's it!
http://www.progressiveu.org/blog/ediblewoman
True. I'm going to take the time between to apply for about a bajillion other scholarships, so maybe if I win some of those I can do without another one next semester and just write for sheer fun. I actually haven't written that many blogs, though.

I came into this pretty late anyway. I had been out for a couple of weeks or so being sick in bed, and gave up on the points. I am still addicted to the site though. I like the exchange of ideas and discussions. I haven't posted much, but I have a lot of comments to make with just about any topic.

But I think I'll enjoy it more when it doesn't feel like homework. How many days left? 11?
I'm glad you are sticking around, with or without the contest. You always have good insights.
http://www.progressiveu.org/blog/ediblewoman
I like reading your comments and your blogs are always great. I never really felt like this was homework, which I suppose could explain why I gave up on points. I have a ton of blogs I've thought of, some I even wrote down, but they never got here. I thought my last blog- the World Naked Ride one- was a necessity, just as inspiration to hopefully inspire a few people to get active.

Nine more days! I can't believe it's almost the end of this contest. I can remember thinking that I had all the time in the world to write blogs. Who was I kidding?
