Correct me if I'm Politically Incorrect!!

We're growing up in a politically correct world. What's wrong with
it? most people would say nothing, but I really don't like it at all.
I mean it's all about hurting people's feelings really. We do that
anyway, whether we call someone black or african american anyway.
Look, I hate hurting people's feelings. But I don't think that being
politically correct about it does any good. I mean when I can't even
call someone black in school, or mentally retarded, it's pretty lame.
I don't mean anything by it, it's just the way language is used. It's
a way to describe somebody. Sure it's good to use caution when
talking to and about people. If it's inappropiate, than I'm totally
fine with the "politically correct" term. I just don't like the label
"politically correct" because then it makes things offical. You get
looked down upon, or yelled at for calling someone asian, instead of
specifying what kind of asian.

I just think it's stupid. Especially because when we call people
black or asian, they don't mind. Hell no they don't mind. They'll
tell you that. They call themselves that for gods sake! I think the
people that we really offend when we don't speak politically
correctly is the people who made this whole thing up.

So I call a black person a black person. The black person doesn't
mind; in fact he's proud of it. The white person is the one who
actually minds. There's irony for you.

Another thing is this whole politically correct thing has gotten our
society so soft. It affects anything. It's come to the point that
even if we capture a well known terrorist and take him into custody,
he won't get the death sentence. All I'm saying is that our view
about issues like the death sentence have greatly softened over the
past few decades. And I think being politically correct changed this.
People are araid of being too harsh, so then they become too soft. I
mean being nice to a terrorist seems thoughtful and loving, but it
wasn't the idea people had 50 years ago about how to treat
terrorists. Why has this changed? Just because it sounds good though,
doesn't make it right. I don't think that our way of thinking is any
better than it was decades ago. But this is how we humans operate. We
believe what we think.

I like being nice, but not under the "rules" of political correctness!
