Ok, so I realize how important the SAT's are and how serious they need to be taken, but I just can't help but to flench whenever I hear the name of that test. I am a junior in high school and I am beginning to plan my future; what college will I go to, what will I major in, where will a find a job involving my major after I graduate, where will I live, and so on and so forth...... yet all of the answers to these questions come down to that one test. I am a pretty good student so I'm not worried about failing, its the fact that if my scores are not high enough, then I might not be able to get into the college I would like to get accepted to. I know that I am not the only student to have this dilema. Has anyone found a way to get over theses fears? That would be very interesting to learn how to.
Why do the SAT's have to be so scary?

not all colleges require the sat. Most require just the ACT. The act tests knowledge more than the sat does. Check with the colleges that you want to apply to to see whether or not they require the sat. im a junior also but im only taking the act because the sat isnt required for the college i wnat to go to
I took the ACT because the SAT has that stigma. In all honesty, the ACT is no different than any of other 50 thousand standardized tests you've taken throughout school. Also, most schools will accept the ACT in lieu of the SAT, so like holster said, check with the schools you want to go to and see if they really require the SAT. Chances are, they'll require either the SAT or the ACT, but not one over the other.

Just relax! If you have a good GPA or are active in your school, bad test scores won't kill you anyways.
