If you have never attended a high school in an urban area you have no idea whats going on in the real world. These schools have no money for new books or money for new computers. Everything they have is far behind schools in suburban areas. I really shouldn't say you dont know whats going on in the real world because that is very rude. But these schools can not prepare their students for college effectively. It has gotten so bad that some teachers that are supposed to work at these schools have stopped coming to school to do their job. And if they do come they don't teach. It then starts to make the students feel as though they have no point in even coming to class because the teacher won't be there so why go? Of course there are students who come to school and be rude and disrespectful to the teachers. But really they knew what they were signing theirselves up for when they took the job. I attend a school like this. There are more substitutes coming everyday than teachers. Students walking the halls all day, never going to any of their classes. Teachers sitting in class not teaching. It's really sad to see. And it's really hurting the few students who have no choice but to come to this school because its in their neighborhood. They want to do something with themselves but their school is not helping them its hurting them. I will not be a product of my environment. I am going to college. I will show all these lazy teachers at my school that I didn't need their help.
