Is it the end of an era in Cuba? What will Raul bring?

I figured it would be best to wait for everyone else to have some time to talk about what is going on in Cuba before putting in what I have to say. Fidel Castro's resignation to many may seem like something that will change everything. I have the opposite to say.

It seems quite obvious that the new President of Cuba will be Raul Castro. The elder Castro giving up rule to the younger who has ruled Cuba since the elder became ill and handed powers to Raul. To me there is little hope for Cuba until the Castro regime ends. My personal belief is that Raul as the president rather than acting president will be just as much a hardliner as his older brother. There are some that would argue with this. Some believe that he wants to make the system more like the system in China. This would allow a slightly more open market than that of China. Raul is 76 years old, just 5 years younger than Fidel, so the end could be soon for communism for Cuba.

Do you think that Cuba will be able to smoothly transition to democracy in the future?

How much longer do you think the U.S. embargo on Cuba will last?

Do you think that Raul Castro will bring widespread change to Cuba? Why or Why not?
