Sometimes it's breathtaking to sit back and reminisce on how fast time flies.
I feel like it was just yesterday that I was excited about Disney World, that I was having play dates, or that I could hardly wait for "pizza day" at school.
Now I get excited about road trips, I date, and I can hardly wait to have a fresh salad with ranch dressing.
Time flies so fast, and things change without a moments notice. Within the blink of an eye you're a year older, you've made new friends, and you've outgrown your favorite $15 Mudd jeans.
You can no longer get away with watching the Teletubbies, eating with your fingers, or having your mom dress you.
The excitement that you used to get for the little things are gone, like Valentines from every classmate, the new Hanson song, or a Snow Day.
You start only getting Valentine's from your friends, Hanson is "like soooo 1994," and Snow Day's aren't for sledding, they're for sleeping in and tackling the homework you blew off for you Season 3 of Grey's Anatomy.
But is it so wrong if you try to hold on to something that's slipping so fast away? If you still want to hand out Valentines to everyone? If you want to sled on your snowdays, and build forts and have snowball fights? If you want to belt out "MMM BOB just one last time?
Time may fly, but do we really have to grow up?
