Music is life

Music is Life. I have heard this phrase countless times throughout the music hallway at my high school and now in the music building at my college, I have seen it written on posters and wrist bands, but is music really life? My friends would certainly think so. My band geek, choir nerd, musical acting friends would. Their whole lives revolve around some activity that involves music. Day in and day out they sing, play, dance, and act their way into a big fine arts cliche of life. So certainly for them, music is an intregal part of life, but is it life itself? I would like to think so. I bought an ipod with my graduation money with the words "because life should come with music..." inscribed on the back. So, as I sit here listening to Hellogoodbye, singing along to all the songs, caught up in the beat and the meaning, I wonder if I could even go one day without music. So I'm going to try. Starting at 12:01 am Febuary 19th and ending 24 hours later, I will not listen to music at all. No music, for an entire day. Not doing my homework, or driving, or at work, or anywhere. No songs, no cautchy beat, no offensive lyics. Not a peep. I'll report back on Wednesday the 20th and let you know if music really is life. Wish me luck. P.S. happy birthday mom!
