what do you people think about attending a junior college first before transferring into a 4 year university/college. the positive aspects of attending a junior college first is that it is very cheap and usually when you decide to go to a junior college you are trying to save money in the first place so you are staying at home. you do not have to pay for the rent and the tuition is a lot cheaper. when you go to a a four year university/college i have been told that i should try my best to attend a for year first because it is good experience to your life so you can learn to be independent. a fellow teacher also told me to get out of the city i live in ( Rancho Cucamonga) or i will never end up leaving. Lot of my family members are urging me to attend a four year university/college first because they say it will look better on my resume, but I am contemplating if I should because I feel guilty for making my parents be really stingy for the years that I am college so that they can support me. what do you guys think is better attending a junior college first and then transferring to a four year or just going to a four year right away?
