Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew... is this really a good idea

Recently I watched a new show on VH1 called Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. The show entails different celebrities from the famous to the obscure who are dealing with varying degrees of substance abuse problems. These celebrities are placed in an inpatient facility with Dr. Drew and put through the rigors of rehab: therapy, detox, group sessions, cleansing diets, personal sessions, repairing old relationships, etc. While the show is enticing and offers a raw look into America's growing problem of alcohol and drug abuse and the reality of the difficulty one faces when trying to kick a habit, it also offers a more poignant question of how much is too much and at what point should a person's inner struggles be there own battles. While I couldn't tear myself away from the screen, I also felt sickened while watching one patient self destruct and make poor choices over and over again as the intense pain of detoxing became more than he could handle. While I admire Dr. Drew for his work with some of the most severely addicted patients, I question his morals and wonder if he is exploiting the celebrities that he is trying to help. After watching two episodes, the rawness of the patients lives being spilled for the world to see became too much for me and I haven't watched again. What do you think about this.... I mean making a show out people eating bugs and losing weight is one thing.... this is a whole new ball game.
