Full, if you can call it that, story here [1]. That's right. A "fat" man was thrown out of an all you can eat buffet. The man in question, Mr. Ricky Labit, is roughly 6'3" tall and about 275 lbs. Now, don't get me wrong, that's a big man. But is he fat? I don't really think so. I'm 6'1" (on a good day, 6'0" otherwise) and weigh about 250lbs. So, he's a little bigger than I am. But fat? I'd have to see pictures. It all began when Mr. Labit was eating dinner with one of his cousins-in-law, or some such relative. The restaurant has an all you can eat buffet and I'm going to go out on a limb and guess it was Chinese food (Manchuria Buffet? The Owner can't speak English? Frog Legs?!). The waitress hands these two men a bill for $50 when, as a patron of the restaurant, Mr. Labit knows it should only be about $25. He then claims that the waitress says, and I quote, "Y'all fat. Y'eat too much." Mr. Labit then claims that he said, "I ain't that fat, I only weigh 277." Needless to say, this started a big scene. Eventually, the police were called and the dispute was settled. But not before the restaurant comp-ed the bill, Mr. Labit paid for his meal (I know...free food and I wouldn't care what they'd have done to me), and the restaurant BANNING these men. Now, the restaurant claims that this exceedingly large bill was due to the fact that Mr. Labit preferred to dine on some of the more expensive seafood items. As I understand it, there was never anything that said, "Seafood costs extra, bitches." So, there the restaurant is in the wrong. But fuck, this man brings good money to the restaurant! He was eating there THREE TIMES A FUCKING WEEK. Three! That's more than I go to Starbucks, folks. So not only was the restaurant making some cash off this moron, but they now, for some reason, have the gall to insult the customer to his face? I don't think that eating ALL YOU CAN EAT is a good thing. Sure, it's fun to "pig-out" from time to time or "splurge" and get the large fry, but do you really need to eat fast food thrice a week? No. But this raised a question from the blonde on Fox and Friends this morning: Do we need to make all you can eat buffets more expensive to keep people from eating at them? Who the fuck does she think she is? We live in a semi-free nation where we are "free" to do as we please, for the most part, and eat whatever the hell we want. Who is the government or any other authoritative body to tell us that we can't eat something? Do I agree that this man was eating too much and is going to be in trouble, health wise, later on? Yeah. Do I think the restaurant was in the right telling him that he is fat and charging him double? No. Do I think they should have called him fat? Yeah. Do I think they should have banned him from the restaurant? No, but the waitress should be fired. You do not bite the hand that feeds. I hope Mr. Lard-ass sues for discrimination. It would make me smile.
