Just letting everybody know: There's only a couple weeks left before nanowrimo starts! But just what the heck is nanowrimo?
For those who do not know, nanowrimo is national novel writing month: a free-of-charge contest in which people from all over the country try to write 50,000 words (about 175 pages, roughly) between 12:00 AM November 1 and 11:59 PM November 31. The contest, again, is free, and nobody actually reads anything if you don't want them to. At the end, you submit your document and they count the words electronically, letting you know if you make the 50,000 word count or not.
Imagine the look on your peers' faces when you tell them you managed to write a novel in only one month, whereas JK Rowling and Stephen King take years!
If you need any more information, just visit nanowrimo.org. Feel free to support me over the coming couple of months as I try to write and edit a masterpiece worthy of publishing and breaking me into the novel industry. I could really use the motivation, trust me. And hey, if you sign up, let me know your name on the site. I'd love to get a large network of friends together. So far, I only know a handful of people who are going to do this.
Disclaimer: Michael is not to be held accountable for the insane amounts of pizza eaten and coffee drank over the course of November. The rest of the year, though, he's totally responsible.
If you enter, then good luck! I hope everybody makes their 50,000 words!
