A Mother and Daughter relationship is a wonderful thing to possess, but not every girl has one.
I am a 17 year old girl and I haven't ever really had a good mother-daughter relationship. My mom and I always fight even though she doesn't seem to think so. Sometimes I just can't stand her. I mean she doesn't seem to care what I think or anything..it's always about her. She never went to my basketball games in elementary school, she doesn't seem to support me that much. If what I want isn't what she wants then I have nothing going for me.
When I was maybe 12, I wanted to be a forensic scientist...and yes, maybe there still is a very slight interest there...but I am a Senior now and my mind has changed. She says that I have never mentioned nursing before and I dont think you should do it. She is all about money it seems. I dont care about money...I mean of course it is a great thing to have but money is not everything.
It really stinks that we dont always see eye to eye with eachother. Would it be nice to talk to her about some personal girl things, or boys, and about me going to college. YES it would but I cant. She wont even bother to just sit and listen to what I have to say.
I wish I had the mother-daughter relationship like some of my friends. But I dont. I have my Daddy to look up to and to trust. It does get weird at times to talk to my dad about certain things but its good to know that he cares.
I think that, in some young girls, that if they don't have a good motherly figure..then they begin to let their lives fall apart unless they have someone else to look up too for advice, to talk too, etc. I think that young girls need to have a good mom as a role model for them, or just in general a good role model to talk too, to share their interests with, to be cared for. That type of relationship is important to some girls and many girls envy those who have that relationship with their mothers.
