I know that applying for scholarships is a lot of work. It takes dedication, committment and persuverance. No one else is going to do it for you, anc no one else can. For us poor folks money does come from paper. Paper and ink and sweat and time and energy. The only thing that concerns me is, why do they have to be so boring.
I can't find scholarships that I'd want to do. Maybe someone could help me out here but, every time I try to search for short story scholarships, I have to pay something. Meaning, all I find is contest. Why can't I find something interesting. Why can't it be a scholarship on an analysis of 1984 or Harry Potter. No doubt that would be fun. Though, also competitive. That's the other thing. There is a lot of competition. THis whole experience is like a life lesson within itself.
1. The things that you want are the things that you have to pay for.
2. You have to strive to be the best if you want to stick out.
3. Most of the world is either poor or dirt poor.
4. You have to work if you want anything.
5. Life isn't and never will be fair.
Scholarships only go to so many people. That is why I have to try to apply to alot. But by jove it is very frustrating. Because even when you get to college you are still going to have to pay for things. As for why should we have to pay for college. Well, why shouldn't we. As a matter of fact, it wouldn't be the typical American to provide a free college education. One would have to be dirt rich to be able to provide that kind of support. If you think about it schools have to pay for furniture, renovation, books, air conditioning, electircity, equipment, and all the other thing found at college. This experience is pretty cool in a way if you think of scholarships as a standardized test. Can you really outshine thousands of other peers?
