Where, oh where, have the good guy gone? Where, oh where, could they be?

I admit that I have wondered this several times in my young life; I was a little too eager for love, you see. I felt like there were no more good guys left, especially after I had just spent $162 to go see a young man that ended up cheating on his girlfriend with me and kicking me to the curb. I rode the greyhound bus from Greenville, South Carolina to Hagerstown, Maryland. A fourteen hour trip, by myself, on a stinky, scarey bus. His girlfriend would never have done that for him, I know, because I was his girlfriend before her. She was second-best, the girl that reminded him of me the most.

I don't know why I thought that he would change for me. Ladies and gentlemen, on my trip back home, as I cried, here is what I learned:

1) There are good guys, they're just tired of going after the good girls that are obsessed with the want of a bad boy.

2) A guy that loves you will come to you first, not the other way around.

3) Love is patient, love is kind. A guy that makes you cry after after forcing you into sacrificing something for him is not patient nor kind.

4) True love at least will attempt to wait. We're all human.

5) A good guy will always respect you.

6) A good guy is not lazy, wants to please you, and wants to be able to make you happy. He does know that this is not always possible, but he will try.

7) A good guy expects that you will do the same for him as stated in number 6.

8) To find a good guy, sometimes you have to wait a while to sort through all the duds.

9) When you find that good guy, you'll see that the wait was worth it.

10) Ladies, you're as precious as you demand, if one guy does not feel you are "worth" what you demand, someone else will. There are plenty of fish in the sea. And if you lowered your standards for every guy that couldn't quite cut your standards... where would your standards be?

Oh, and last, but not least, love will come to you, don't go hunting for it.
