You hear all of this hype that coffee is bad for you and that smoking along with coffee consumption zillion-uples your chance of heart problems, et cetera. However, along with those risks come benefits. Scientist have recently found that coffee can help ward off diabetes as well as a few other conditions. Personally, I have a lot of respect for coffee. The time that goes into growing and mass distributing it for next to nothing… I have nothing but respect for coffee farmers being that a few of my ancestors were. Think about it… think how much coffee is consumed in your locality per day? How many cups, gallons, pints? Really, coffee drinking has become a part of modern culture and it’s great to find out there are some benefits to drinking it.
NEW YORK msnbc- Drinking coffee can help ward off type 2 diabetes and may even help prevent certain cancers, according to panelists discussing the benefits — and risks — of the beverage at a scientific meeting.
“We’re coming from a situation where coffee had a very negative health image,” Dr. Rob van Dam of the Harvard School of Public Health, who has conducted studies on coffee consumption and diabetes, told Reuters Health. Nevertheless, he added, “it’s not like we’re promoting coffee as the new health food and asking people who don’t like coffee to drink coffee for their health.”
