A slave is any person who is property of and subject to another. We are all created equal therefore we cannot own another person against his or her will. No person should be treated as property or anything less than human. In the world today there are twenty seven million slaves. That is more than there has been at any other time in history.
Slavery may be illegal in the
United States but it still exists in other parts of the world. In fact most of the countries that slavery is practiced in it’s banned. These slaves don’t own anything not even themselves. Modern day slavery is just as bad or worse as the slavery in our country over a hundred years ago. An abolitionist is someone who is committed to ending slavery. Some people might say that modern day slavery is not our business because it is taking place outside of our country but what if it was you shackled and working for nothing? You would want somebody to help no matter what country they lived in. It was not impossible to end to end slavery in the
United States and
Britain hundreds of years ago and it is not impossible to end it today for good. We are not too young to be the amazing change and end slavery. We are a generation of justice seekers and heroes.
