Oh, our poor, poor government. Life just isn't the same anymore. It just seems that our government is doomed to be a three ring circus until '08. No wonder, with someone who has said things like " I am the master of low expectations." How did these people get elected to office? Bush answers that question as well, "The illiteracy level of our children are appalling." However, you can't help but feel a little sorry for them. At one time, they were on top of things and we were hunting down Bin Laden and everything seemed to be going well. Now, however, he's caught in a stranglehold of public opinion. Whenever he tries to do something to fix the problem, either Congress, public opinion, or both strike him down. Essentially, he's a lame duck before his time. About the only thing we can hope for now is the Democrats being able to turn things around. As far as this goes, I have hope because some of the greatest presidents that ever held office were Democrats. Take F.D.R. for instance. Though I don't see how they're going to deal with this war as soon as one of them gets into office, but maybe Bush spoke the truth when he said "We're still being challenged in Iraq and the reason why is a free Iraq will be a major defeat in the cause of freedom." In the meantime, though, I guess we'll just have to grin and bear it.
