Should Hillary be our first female President? Is America ready for this change? Is America ready for a "First Man"?
Or should America choose the Democratic senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, a possible first African-American President?
One of the most pressing issues for the 2008 Election regards these two candidates, both from the same party. On the other side, the Republican side, Rudy Guliani and Senator John McCain, are two of the most prominent candidates. Both sides are looking pretty good, but as it always happens to be in politics, problems occur in the personal lives of these candidates. Recently in Time magazine, Guliani was being "ostracised" for being married three times and his son was talking "against" him on Good Morning America. McCain, on the other hand, was "chosen by Reagan" and is "destined" to be the President.
Personally, I am a Democrat living in South Carolina, a Republican state. I personally choose Barack for two reasons. One: The nation has too much racist activity. What will a nation with a "colored man" for a President do about all the other races? This will truly make everyone equal, no matter the different skin tones. Two: The nation needs a change. Though Hillary may make a good President, I feel as if she is a bit "fake." All smiles right now, but later, may take a change for the worse. Barack, as it so seems, may also do the same, but he seems more like a people person than Hillary - I feel he will be able to hit the nation's most pressing issues with a stronger "head-on" attitude.
All of this was written to ask one question: Who would you choose?
