I've seen similar blogs. I've seen plenty of comments on irrelevant blogs, and I've even left some of those comments. Each day I log on and begin to read through new blogs that have bee posted, and each subsequent day bothers me more than the last. It seems with each passing day there are more people using this like a personal blog and posting self rants, musical lyrics, and other totally irrelevant things.
Unless you somehow connect your mundane thoughts and opinions with ANYTHING progressive, then that would be just fantastic. The worst part is that some of these posts COULD easily suit the site if just a little input was given. For example, there have been several posts where the blogger merely copied and pasted the lyrics to a song......that's it. It wouldn't be that difficult to merely write a paragraph about the song and speak on any social issues it touched on (because many songs do), but that's rarely the case.
This disregard for the site's purpose and wave of personal blogging is to me a strong example of the mindset of people today. ME. ME. ME. It's all about me. I want to blog about myself. I want to post these lyrics that are meaningful. I want to make as many blogs as possible so I can earn a scholarship. I want to complain about what happened in MY life today.
And what happens if you post a comment and mention that they've failed to take into account progressive thought?
"I can blog about whatever I want. Who are you, the progressive police?"
"This does relate to progressive thought, it's about _________" (Inserted is whatever topic they could quickly attach it to in order to defend their pointless blog.)
I'm tired of having to be the "bad guy" calling people for writing blogs that have no point, but I'm even MORE tired of reading them.
So please, all of you out there, blog about an issue. Because if not there will be some of us who will call you on it, and your petty excuses fool no one.
