To my African-American friends and fellow students, I urge you to become enlightened citizens and to not park your political support with Barack Obama simply because he is an African-American. Race loyalty is a great thing sometimes but not when it comes to selecting a commander-in-chief. I hope to pick up his book and learn some more about him before the 2008 election but I will not be making my decision in a blind fashion.
Look at his policy ideas, his positions on social issues affecting YOU, and then figure out who you will support.
Giving your support solely on the basis of race without intelligent analysis of the issues at hand is one of the worst things you can do with your vote.
