For those of you who have been waiting and wondering, the Spring 2007 Blogging for Progress Scholarship competition starts on February 15, 2007, but you can register and enter now.
This semester we will again sponsor three scholarships: one $1,000 winner and two $500 runners-up. Previous winners are putting their scholarships to good use at a wide range of schools; you could be next!
The Official Rules are very similar to previous semesters, but we will continue to add interesting new ways to earn bonus points. There will be some new moderation restrictions designed to reduce spam, prevent copyright violations, and protect members from verbal abuse. We will also have some new features that will help give you a voice as to which posts deserve more attention and which ones don't.
Previous winners are not eligible to enter this semester. However, if you entered in previous semesters and have not yet won a scholarship from Progressive U, you are encouraged to put your blogging skills to good use and enter again. Read the FAQ if you haven't already. There are some also updates for those of you who have been here awhile. Points don't start accumulating until February 15, but you can start blogging and getting your friends on board right now.
Why should you invite your friends? You think they would just be more competition? Don't be so selfish! In fact, Progressive U members who have invited their friends to join them in blogging are often the best bloggers in the Blogging for Progress competition. It's fun exchanging ideas with people you've never met, but your friends can give you support and new ideas. And as someone once said, "friends don't let friends waste all their time on MySpace!"
