With the way things are in the world today, in the community as we know it today, there are a lot of problems. The way that the general media bickers about this happening in the Middle East and that happening close to home, the negative focus never seems to dim. What needs to happen is a bit of understanding on everybody's part.
Whenever we watch the news, we see all of the negative aspects of life. We see anything from a murder on Fifth and Elm to scandals in the highest levels of the federal government. We see things that bring down the joys of life and make all of the hope that we had seem lost.
But all is not truly lost. The world is not a bleak place where everyone harbors hate and negativity. That is just the media. They need us. We, the public, sign their paychecks. For that reason they need us to need them. What we need to do is make it known that the negativity needs coverage, but also the good stuff as well. Kids watching TV see this stuff and are numbed to it by the number of times they see stuff like it. they are numbed to violence, hate, and tragedy.
The world that they will form will be rougher and tougher than ours if we don't do something about it.
