One of the key elements in the downward-spiral of our society's moral fiber is the disintegration in pure respect for women.
No, I'm not talking about the feminist movement, though some of it's aspects I agree with.
I'm talking about the objectification of women. Everyday conversations have become discussions of sexual nature. Men depict women as sexual objects, more-or-less TOYS, and women behave and even promote sexually promiscuous behavior through advertisement and the media. It has become appalling. Forms of entertainment like the video-game industry have resorted to large quantities of exposed cleavage on computer-generated female characters in order to sell their product.
Why has this not become a tool for the feminist movement? Women should not be as concerned with their place in the workforce as with their own basic human respect. It really comes down to self-respect. How about a feminist movement in which women strive to obtain HUMAN RESPECT instead of financial prowess.
One problem with the feminist movement is that simple overconcern, the disquiet and anxiety of attempting to gain a place in male society.
YES, a woman holding the same position and degree as a man SHOULD be making the same salary. YES, a woman with the same credentials should be properly considered for an application. These I completely agree with.
The true problem lies in discontent. Some studies have shown that women with progressive ideals tend to be less happy in permanent relationships and even have a higher percentage of divorce.

I understand the frustration of a male-dominated society when men objectify and view women as possessions. I truly believe that when men cease these behaviors, women will feel more secure. I am not condoning pacifism, I am stating that men with true respect for women will autonomously create a society in which women's TRUE rights are accepted.
