Today is election day. Everyone knows that because we have been watching political advertisments for as long as I can remember. I hope everyone plans to go out and vote today, as long as you are able to vote.
My sociology professor has been on my class about voting, he has also been writing a column in the school newspaper about everyone getting out there to the polls today. I voted by absentee, which is very easy actually.
I go to a state school in PA. Our tuition is basically controlled by the politicians we are voting for today. Thats why I voted. I pay a social security tax, and I want some money left for me when I get old. Thats why I voted. I have friends in almost every branch of the military and they need more support. Thats why I voted.
So, the issues I listed might not be a good reason for you to go to the polls today, but they were good enough for me. Please go vote today. Our generation is ignored by politicians because we do not vote at all. If we do vote they will have to start thinking about us and our needs.
