A Blog on Blogging

Welcome to the world of online blogging.
This is my first post, well at least on this site, and for a while I've been wondering if these things even worth it anymore. I've been blogging for about a year on xanga.com and for a while all my friends plus people I've never even met were reading it. I loved the feeling of opening my page and seeing that I had new comments. I'd post about once a week, usually about trivial stuff like what I did in band that day, or how horrible my teachers are, or how much I didn't want to go to work. Those were the post that recieved the most comments, mostly people saying how sorry they were that my teachers were mean or how crappy (am I allowed to curse on this site?) my job must be if I'm complaining about it so much. However I did post a few times about things in politics, and things that I felt actually mattered. These were the posts that got the fewest comments, most often these comments being from people I'd never even met. After a few posts like this I started wondering if people, most importantly my closests friends, even cared what I had to say. I wondered if anyone cared about abortion laws or the war in Irag. After a while I stopped posting for the most part, with an occasional blog every month or so. Was it really important anymore? Was it worth writing down if no one was going to read it? I hope so because I've realized over the past few months that I just like to write. I may not be great at it, but I'm going to do it anyways. I've realized that I really like getting comments, but it doesnt really matter as long as I'm saying what I want to say. I don't care if any one agrees with what I say, or if anyone even reads it, I'm going to write it anyways. I am not going to lie, I started this blog for the contest, I want to win because otherwise I can't study abroad in Germany, but more importantly I think this blog site will be a good outlet for me.
