Not knowing how to find a meaningful opportunity may be a reason that keeps some people from volunteering in our society. The United Way can help overcome that barrier. It's Volunteer Center offers a Web-based service, http://national.unitedway.org/, to make volunteering fun, easy and accessible to individuals, families, groups and corporations.
When you register on the site, you can create a personal profile of the type of volunteer opportunity best suited to your interests, abilities, available time and geographic preferences. Leads will be e-mailed to you from among hundreds of opportunities from non-profits throughout your community. If you are involved in a group or club, United Way can also help tailor a volunteer experience geared toward your cause or mission.
Vounteering makes life more meaningful and is mission critical to United Way's work of addressing today's needs and reducing tomorrow's needs.
