Recently, the BBC published an article on the waning influence of the United States throughout the world. The author puts forth that due to the many issues affecting American society, namely the financial crisis and the war in Iraq. Consequently, the sovereignty of our republic will soon be greatly reduced, leaving open the opportunity for other countries to rise and dominate our globe.

So the question remains: Shall America retain its prominence as a world power, or will it gradually fall into a more multi-polar world?

if think america will eventually lose power to China. but that may be in a few hundred years or so.
to me this isn't a big deal because what does it mean to be a superpower?

I think america has the abilitly to remain the super power and grow. I think away to help us is to move forward on clean energy. When we had all the advanced military equipment we were the super power so why couldn't we be an even stronger super power with advance technology?
