I have came a across people of all types. The biggest thing is Spanish; however, there is a down fall for a lot of people. There are a lot of jobs that need people that speaks both English and Spanish. If you don't, they might not want you.
I don't think that this is right in any way. They get special treatment. I think if they keep using the excuse "Me no speak no English" they should be required to take an English class or they welfare will be cut of. I bet that they will rush to learn it then.
Why am I so harsh? I think it's wrong for them to get excuse for what ever they are doing due to the fact that they can't speak. I been in positions were they can understand me perfectly but will lie to someone else.
How many times have this happened to you?

You do realize that many of these individuals are illegal aliens, and thus not eligible for welfare, right?
Very large numbers of illegal aliens have had children in the USA that are often referred to as "anchor babies". Once they have one of these babies they can tap into most of the benefits of our social welfare state on behalf of their citizen children. Illegal aliens are costing our welfare system plenty. We would not have to support these welfare babies if we did a better job of enforcing our laws.
Further it is common for illegal aliens to file tax returns using taxpayer ID numbers (TINS) and to claim tax credits which were intended for citizens. For example last year illegal aliens collected $4.2 billion from the Additional Child Tax Credit. Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) fraud costs us billions more each year.
Illegal alien apologists often like to equate filing a tax return with paying taxes. The reality is that because they are low wage earners and our tax system is highly progressive, most illegal aliens pay NEGATIVE taxes. They get refunds in excess of the amount they payed in.
There may be some facts worth considering here, but it sounds like we're discussing several differnt topics here.
For one thing, most immigrants, illegal or otherwise, struggle to speak english as fast as possible. Lack of language skills limits there options with employment, social contacts, and so many other things.
One reason so many people miss this, is because so many new people are comming up from the south all the time, so by the time 75% of the people from the last wave have aquired some usable language skills two new waves have already arrived and need to learn.
Secondly how much illegals drain the system is highly debatable. We don't even know how many there are. I've heard estimates ranging from 10 to 30 million.
Though I certainly agree we can and should set things up so people cannot cross illegally. Though I think the easiest way to do that is let almost anyone cross any time they want, just require them to let us know they are here.
Your approach is a variation on the libertarian approach to immigration which essentially calls for open borders. I have strong libertarian leanings but I part company with them on immigration. I have numerous problems with it. Here are a few of them:
1) Not long ago there was a poll which showed 45% of the Mexican population wanted to immigrate and a substantial portion of them was willing to do so illegally. That has changed somewhat with our poor economy but our economy hopefully will not be poor forever. We really don't need 45 million more Mexican's here. It would make assimilation very difficult and they would create huge strains. EVERY problem we have becomes more difficult to solve as we add people and this axiom is multiplied when those people happen to be overwhelmingly poor.
2) The current (in my opinion erroneous) interpretation of the 14'th Amendment makes the children of illegal immigrants citizens. Since the best predictor of social economic status and educational attainment of a child is the social economic status and educational attainment of their parents, and since the vast majority of those 45 million would be poor, we would be setting ourselves up for a vast expansion of the welfare state. We REALLY DO NOT NEED any more poor people.
3) The group that would feel the greatest impact from this vast influx would be our own poorest citizens. They would compete for housing, jobs, educational opportunities and political power. A policy that makes the poor even poorer is unconscionable.
4) Many of these poor citizens would be pushed out of their current low end jobs into the welfare system and then they would be burdens on the middle class which is already struggling.
5) But the Mexican influx would be the least of our problems. There are 7 billion people on earth and at least 4 billion of them are poorer than the average Mexican. A very large percentage of them would love to be poor in America which means they would be living rich by world standards. If 10% of those 4 billion people managed to make it to America, the 400 million influx would overwhelm our current 300 million and drive all of us into 3'rd world poverty.
There is a reason why countries have immigration policies. Ours current immigration policy is terrible but it is 10000% better than the open borders you have just proposed.
The purpose of immigration policy should be to make our country better for our existing citizens. In general we are well served by importing educated job creators and poorly served by importing poverty.
What everyone fails to see, is your country is promoting their present to undermine citizens. If you look around citizens of the USA are now second class. They are trying to create chaos. First they sent main jobs to China, gave incentive to other to own all the stores, hotels, etc., and now they are allowing illegal’s to get jobs they say we does not want. They have reduced to us cutting grass. So tell me why would we not want a construction job (housing or the highway). Your government is trying to destroy this country.
The real problem is most of the citizens are in support of this behavior and then they want to complain about the problem.
