I don't know about you, but I feel like I need to shake things up a bit. Life after graduation at first, comes with all the glamor and freedom, but only for a little while.

I was laid off from a small company in January. I was cleaning out my stuff and saw my boss’s offer letter. He was making 130,000. That was like 4 times what I was being paid. My boss had a boss and he had a boss too. So, that is like one million dollars in the work food chain that was dispersed through four people. I realized why the company crashed and burned.

I feel like I'm getting better at doing less whining and crying about my situation and starting to fight back. The thing about all that paperwork you sign in the beginning folks... the stuff your government created for you to protect you from workplace harassment, sexual harassment and what-not...your right to privacy. It's all bullshit.

You know...when you're little all of the adults that you know tell you to 'enjoy your youth' and 'it won't last forever'. When I was young, I didn't want to grow up, like some children do, I was just happy being little. No responsibilities, no worries, just doing whatever I felt like doing throughout the day (which most of the time involved staying in with a book).

I grew up living in an upper-middle class neighborhood. Sure we went through rough times, like when I lived with my mom, but who doesn't. In fact I still live in an upper-middle class neighborhood. I'm going to a private school next year with quite the price tag, I have all the name brand clothes and purses and shoes I could ask for, and my family goes out to eat quite often.

I wake up in the morning and cringe. I don't know if I should say that I wake up or not because sleep isn't really something that I do, it is more something that I attempt. But I immediately know what is ahead in my day and I cringe. Its not because I hate my life or all the things that I have to do but because just the fact that I have to do them all.

My sister works her ass off everyday. She's 21 and is raising her boyfriend's daughter. She works as a leasing agent at an apartment complex and one of her used-to-be really good friends is her boss. Big mistake I know, but they usually get along. Unless...well here's the latest...
