Experiential Teaching & Learning… Is it really important?

Actually, I got the idea for this post from my last one on my youngest daughter’s class project concerning global warming. This is a bit different though, but still holds true to the principles concerning how teachers teach, and perhaps more importantly, how students learn.

Quotes to Live By

Two quotes to think about....

1.) "It better befits a man to laugh at life than to lament over it." --Seneca (4 b.c.-a.d.65)

Even in 4 b.c., this guy knew what he was talking about. Clearly laughing is better than lamenting or being sad. I think this is pretty much a common denominator for all of us. But, looking at this simple quote further we can see some grains of wisdom.

"All men by nature desire Knowledge."

It was Aristotle who once said, "All men by nature desire knowledge." This very desire of knowledge motivates me to seek a path in which I have the ability to acquire an understanding that is greater then myself. Hence, I have chosen to attend college, a place where I believe ideas, wisdom, knowledge, and truth has the ability to formulate through the avenue of open minds and dedicated study.
