Yes, President Bush cried at the White House today.
He cried over the high cost funeral that had already occurred. Michael A. Monsoor, who was part of a sniper team on a roof in Ramadi, Iraq when he died on Sept. 29, 2006.

Michael Monsoor, a Navy, seal did not hesitate when he saw the live grenade.

Being a First Child means that, for at least one of your parents, you have to come second. A President of the United States ideally takes upon his or herself to put aside personal biases and, for four years, makes America the number one priority. There have been many women who have lived in the White House through the years. Out of all the First Ladies, Hillary Clinton is undoubtedly the most controversial, and also one of the most protective of her child. Rove is movin' on!

We'll consider this post more of a happy dance masquerading as a blog post versus a regular old blog post. But, I just had to say it...

Karl Rove is leaving the White House at the end of the month. When I saw that headline this morning, I thought I'd finally lost touch with reality. But no! He's really leaving. This is almost as wonderful as the day Rumsfeld resigned. I cried tears of joy then (and likely will come Rove's last day).

Running America has its benefits

Including evading the judicial process.

President Bush has used his executive privilege to refuse lawmakers' demands for White House documents relating to the Congressional investigation of recent firings of federal prosecutors. Granted, it's not illegal for him to use this executive privilege, but it's still a veritable slap in the face to Congress' attempts to seek the truth about those suspicious firings. The subpoenas ask for documents and for former political director Sara Taylor and former presidential counsel Harriet Miers to testify in front of Congress-- neither of which the White House is willing to authorize.  Read More »
