Volunteering is something we all can do. Technology has enabled us that we barely have to leave our homes if we want to anymore! However, the world is two big to be selfish. There are people and worthwhile organizations that can benefit from volunteers.

GIVING BIG THROUGH VOLUNTEERING

Volunteer: Be the Change
Ghandi left us with a famous quote: "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." So many times we let opportunities pass us by because we don't have the time, or we would rather be enjoying ourselves than taking the time out of our busy schedules to give back to the community. But I urge you to get out there and volunteer!

A Chapter for Service
Recently I have been conducting numerous scholarship searches. I've been researching different programs and applications, and like many others, feel like I'm behind. I'm a Junior in High School, and it's the end of February. I hear about Grants all the time, but I guess I just didn't realize how and when to go about applying.

A Call For Change
I wish I had more time. I wish I could do more.
Every year I make a list of things I want to accomplish: learn Spanish, learn Italian, learn to read music and to play piano, guitar, and/or violin, volunteer at the animal shelter.

extend a hand, give your heart
Many colleges demand community service hours, which I think they should. But, so many selfish teens see this as a chore and volunteer anywhere just to get their hours. I can't tell you how many times I have seen a senior go to the animal shelter, take the dog to a running pen, and sit down in the shade and text the whole time. What is wrong with us these days to view helping as a burden.

Voluntary Human Extinction Movement
Many can see that the world is suffering from a major overpopulation problem. There are few who think that the Earth can hold more than it does right now. Some optimists think over ten billion while many religious leaders believe the earth can support fourty billion people. Yeah right. The earth population is over seven billion today and steadily on the increase.
Why?

A bowl of hope with a side of life
A few years ago I went and worked in a soup kitchen. It was perhaps the saddest thing I have ever done. I was constantly scolded for handing people soup and milk. I was supposed to set it down and slide it and then they picked it up. I was scolded for making eye contact. I was told that if I wasn't more careful they would hurt me.
