I am a firm believer that the words we choose play a huge part in how others perceive us. They are just as important, in my opinion, as the way we dress and the body language we use. Using proper and polite language makes one come off as intelligent, whereas words such as gay and retarded make one come off as being very unintelligent.

I’m guilty of calling my friends (regardless of gender) “slut” and “whore”. I partially blame it on the fact that I go to a school where that is the norm. The girls go around calling each other “ho bags”, the girls call the guys “man-hoes”, and the guys call the girls “sluts”. It’s just a cycle.
